In a sensational broad daylight loot in Farrukhabad, an accountant of Bharatiya Janata Party’s MLA was knocked down and later Rs 5 lakh cash was snatched from him on Monday.
Soon after learning about the incident, senior police officers rushed to spot and launched a massive combing operation but failed to trace out the miscreants.
The injured accountant was admitted to hospital.
Reports said that Dinesh Pal, a native of Meerapur hamlet of Sithauli in Farrukhabad,  who is accountant of BJP MLA from Aliganj Assembly constituency, Satyapal Singh and collects cash from the legislator’s liquor shops in the district, went to receive money from the contractors.
He collected the money from Madanpur area under the Mohamedabad police station and was going from Dheerpur to Pakhana road when a four-wheeler came from back and hit the accountant’s motorcycle near Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown. When the accountant fell on the road, the miscreants stopped the car and two youths came out and hit him with some object and snatched the bag containing Rs 5 lakh cash and escaped.
The accountant immediately called the MLA and informed him about the loot.
When the MLA informed senior officers about the incident, they rushed to the spot and alerted the entire district force.
Station House Officer of Mohamedabad police station, Rakesh Kumar, said they registered a case and were making efforts to nab the miscreants.
In another sensational incident in Aligarh district, two youths in inebriated state first manhandled the men in khaki and later ransacked the local police outpost before fleeing.
The local police registered a case and raided the house of the miscreants but found them absconding.
Reports said that Sub-Inspector Sabir Ali along with head constable Harnarain and home guard Bhagwan Sarai, all attached with the Dewathu police outpost of Atrauli police station, were patrolling in Aureni Dalpatpur area on Sunday night when they intercepted Shyamu of Rajgaon and his friend who were returning to their village on a bike.
The cops, however, were taken by surprise when both the miscreants, who were drunk, assaulted the policemen and escaped.
The miscreants later reached the local police outpost and ransacked it and broke the furniture and escaped.
The cops came to know of the miscreant’s action when they returned to police outpost in the wee hours of Monday. They informed the senior officers about it.
Station House Officer of Atrauli police station, Dharmendra Pawar, said that they got the cops medical examination and registered a case against both the accused. They also raided their houses to arrest them but found them absconding.
