nBy giving unwarranted statements, NJP leaders are spreading the fear of Covid-19 in Chhattisgarh when the government has made all arrangements to treat patients, the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee said on Tuesday.
Countering the allegations by Dr Raman Singh, PCC spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla said if the former Chief Minister is so concerned over the treatment of people, he should ask the Central government to ensure free of cost treatment.
Shukla said a false propaganda is being spread regarding lack of beds and oxygen cylinders in the state.
There is no doubt that the number of Covid-19 cases has risen in the state. But based on increasing numbers, the government is making all arrangements for treatment and increasing the resources, he said.
Shukla said that in March the treatment for Covid-19 was limited to AIIMS, Raipur. This has now expanded to 29 specialised hospitals including medical colleges and additional19 private hospitals.
Chhattisgarh now has 186 Covid-19 Care Centres, 2,283 oxygen-supported beds and 842 ICU beds.
Similarly, the testing is now done in 28 district hospitals and all community health centres. Six medical colleges and 4 private labs are holding RT-PCR testing, he pointed out.
He urged opposition leaders to play a positive role and support the demand of 150 ICU beds from the Central government in AIIMS, Raipur. The leaders can also ask the Modi government to provide free medical treatment across the country.
