Seven new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Bokaro district, while eight including one CISF cop recovered and were discharged from Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) on Sunday.
The discharged were tested negative for the Sars-Cov-2 virus for the second time and sent back to their respective homes, said Mukesh Kumar Deputy Commissioner Bokaro.
All the new patients have been shifted to Covid Hospital, and contact tracing of all is being done. The total number of active cases rushed to 39 in the district while the death toll in the district stands at two, he said.
Among the positive cases was a 33 year-old youth form Sector 4 A, who recently returned from Patna. The second case was a 28-year-old man from Sector-3 E, who also came from Bihar, the third case a 34-year-old man from Chas, another 56 years again from Kunwar Singh Colony Chas, came from Patna and the fifth case is a 55-year-old man from Sector-12. At the same time, the sixth is a 26-year-old employed at ONGC Bokaro tested Covid-19 positive. At the same time, the seventh is a BGH employee he said adding, “contact history tracing of these seven persons is being done to prevent further case proliferation.”
Expressing concern over the spurt in Coronavirus positive cases in the district, Kumar said everyone needs to be vigilant. Most of the cases are from Bokaro urban areas, hence more security and vigilance is necessary.
He urged that everybody must apply a mask, follow social distance, and wash their hands with soap. The best way is that all of you stay safe in your own homes.
Civil Surgeon Bokaro, AK Pathak said, most of the COVID-19 positive patients had either travel or contact history in the district as the in-flow of migrants is on the rise in Bokaro.
The district administration is keeping close watches on the entry of the migrant workers, students and others trapped outside the state due to a national lockdown imposed to check the spread of Covid-19 in India. The administration is working hard on virus risk mitigation plans and regarding the management of the people who are returning in the district,” said Pathak.
