Odia woman dies of corona in US
Bhubaneswar: Sunanda Panda, a non-resident Odia woman in New Jersey, US, died reportedly due to COVID-19. She was 50. She was asymptomatic and complained of uneasiness in breathing on Monday and was admitted to a hospital, where she was diagnosed with COVID-19 and put on a ventilator. However, she died within hours. She is survived by her husband and a daughter.
Tigiria lawyer Surya Mohanty passes away
Athagarh: Tigiria’s eminent lawyer Suryanarayan Mohanty (63) passed away on Sunday. He was suffering from pneumonia and cancer. Mohanty was also a good scriptwriter, artist, drama director, short story writer and social worker. He was associated with several socio-cultural-religious organisations of Athagarh and Tigiria. His well-wishers visited his Nizigarh residence to pay him last respects. Principal Mamata Mishra of Athagarh Women's College, Athagarh Bikash Parishad president Ramnarayan Mohanty, ‘Athagarh Prahari’ editor Babita Das and many other prominent persons of the locality condoled Mohanty’s demise.
Bhapur PS staff donate day's salary to CMRF
Bhapur (Nayagarh): The staffs of Bhapur block Panchayat Samiti on Monday donated their one day's salary to Chief Minister's Relief Fond for curbing coronavirus outbreak. They deposited a total of Rs 51,760 in the CMRF account at the SBI, Bhapur Branch here.
