The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) said the work on Bundelkhand Expressway for linking it with Agra-Lucknow Expressway was going on in full swing and 16 per cent of the physical work had been completed.
The UPEIDA said all the pending works and other issues relating to the construction of the main carriageway and the service road were being expedited.
UPEIDA Chief Executive Officer Awanish Awasthi said here on Saturday that directives had been issued to the contractors to expedite the construction of structures and flyovers on the expressway.
Reviewing the progress of the expressway project through video conferencing, Awasthi also issued directive to accelerate the work on shifting utilities like electric poles, tube well, high tension power lines and other utilities falling in the path of the expressway.
He also directed officials to ensure prompt disposal of the problems in completing the earthwork for the expressway.
During the video conferencing, senior officials of the construction companies were also present.
Asking the contractors to ensure quality control, Awasthi said the work on construction of bridges over the rivers Betwa and Yamuna be started. The CEO said he would soon inspect the work site.
Awasthi also talked to the district magistrates of the districts through which the expressway passes and directed them to expedite the construction work in their jurisdiction.
The Bundelkhand Expressway, originating from Bharatkoop in Chitrakoot, will pass through Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun and Auraiya and link with the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Etawah at National Highway No. 91.
The length of the 4-lane Bundelkhand Expressway is 296 km and the construction work has been divided into six packages.
