Intra-State bus services, which were suspended due to the nationwide lockdown following Covid-19 outbreak, would resume from Monday (May 25), Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Kumar Jena informed on Sunday.
Besides intra-State buses, other passenger vehicles and city buses would also be allowed to operate only up to seating capacities of the vehicles.
This apart, intra-State movement of two-wheelers, private vehicles, Government vehicles, taxis, including cabs by aggregators like Ola, Uber, etc., four-wheelers and auto-rickshaws (up to two passengers and the driver) would be allowed to run, Jena said.
Also, train services would resume within the State from Monday (May 25) by following the SOPs of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Indian Railways.
Movement of public transport, private vehicles and taxis (including cabs by aggregators like Ola, Uber, etc.) to and from airports, railway stations and bus terminals/stands/stops would be allowed round the clock for facilitating movement of passengers coming by air, rail and road, the SRC said.
All passengers travelling across the State by any mode of transport shall compulsorily wear facemasks and persons with visible symptoms of Covid-19 would not be permitted to travel, he added. In the latest development, the private bus owners disagreed to ply their vehicles as several issues are to be sorted out with the Government before they resume the service.
