Bus services resume, but partially normal

Friday, 29 May 2020 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

Even though private buse services finally resumed in the State on Thursday, only a few buses began plying. The numbers of passengers were also very low at various places.

While some buses started operation from the Baramunda Bus-Stand in Bhubaneswar to several parts of the State early morning, some passengers, who reached the bus-stand in Cuttack to travel to Rourkela and Sambalpur were disappointed due to unavailability of buses.

Similarly, private buses could not ply from Jepore in Koraput district and Balaeswar due to unavailability of drivers and other staffs.

A bus carrying 15 passengers which left from Baramunda to Boudh wasthe first one to ply in the State. Another two buses from Baramunda to Brahmapur and Balugaon also left for their destinations.

To prevent the coronavirus spread, the buses were disinfected while staffs ensured that people wear masks and sanitise their hands.
