Chhattisgarh recorded the highest single day spike in Covid-19 cases on Friday, with 40 more persons testing positive and taking the total count of active coronavirus cases to 110. With this hike, a total of 174 Covid-19 cases have been detected in the state so far. Of this, 64 patients have been cured.
At the same time, three Covid-19 patients were cured and discharged from the Bilaspur’s Covid-19 Hospital. All three were from Janjgir Champa region. There has been a spurt in the number of cases of the novel coronavirus in Chhattisgarh since Sunday.
Twenty-five persons tested positive for the virus on Sunday, three on Monday, six on Tuesday, nine on Wednesday, 17 on Thursday and 40 on Friday.
Earlier, it was announced that all government offices in Chhattisgarh will remain shut on Saturday as part of a total lockdown for all weekends in May.
