C’garh to run 11 trains to bring home people

Chhattisgarh plans to run 11 special trains to bring back its migrant workers, students, people in distress or those in need of medical care stranded in other states due to the Covid-19 induced lockdown, officials said here on Sunday.

Those seeking to board these trains will have to apply online in the portal of the Chhattisgarh Labour Department.

The state government has asked people to stay where they are and be in touch with the local authorities. Those who have not got themselves registered must do so now.

The trains will ply once permission is given by Indian Railways and concerned state governments.

Only those from Chhattisgarh can travel in these trains.

The 11 special trains proposed by the Chhattisgarh government include one train from Pathankot (Punjab) to Champa, two from Sabarmati (Ahmedabad) to Bilaspur, one train from Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) to Bilaspur, three trains from Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) to Raipur, two trains from Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) to Bhatapara, one train from Muzaffarpur (Bihar) to Raipur and one train from Delhi to Bilaspur.
