Capt Amarinder doesn't tolerate criticism, says AAP

Monday, 10 August 2020 | PNS | CHANDIGARH

A day after Punjab Government withdrew the state security of Congress’ Rajya Sabha MP Partap Singh Bajwa, the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) state unit president Bhagwant Mann on Sunday termed Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh as ‘a dictatorial king’ saying that like Hitler, Capt Amarinder also does not tolerate his own criticism.

“That is why, whoever criticizes the corrupt, hopeless, and mafia-style working of the Congress led Punjab Government, the monarchy government goes against it to the extreme extent, even if they are senior leaders of their own party,” quipped Mann.

Mann said that though there was infighting between Congress Rajya Sabha members and former Punjab Congress state president Partap Singh Bajwa-Shamsher Singh Dullo and the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder over the power centre which can be considered as an internal matter of the Congress, but Bajwa and Dullo are saying the same things which AAP has been stating about the incompetent, corrupt, and monarchical working style of the Chief Minister from the very beginning with complete responsibility.

“Even Raja Sahib has come to know that like Badals, he too has lost his credibility among the people of Punjab…If the Chief Minister does not work, he should learn to bear his criticism,” he added.

Questioning the Chief Minister over withdrawing police security given to Bajwa under the pretext of security provided by the Centre, Mann said that why this criterion could not be applied to other politicians like Badal family and Bikram Singh Majithia who have been granted security cover by Central Security Agencies as well as Punjab Police in large numbers.

Mann demanded the Chief Minister to clarify his stand to the people about voluminous security provided to Majithia and Badal family by Punjab Government.
