Caution needed at all levels to control coronavirus: CM

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to take regular feedback about Covid and non-Covid hospitals from the nodal officers deployed in various districts so that required corrective steps could be taken at the earliest.
“The necessary follow-up action should be taken on the basis of the feedback from the nodal officers,” the chief minister said while presiding over a high-level Unlock 2.0 review meeting at his official residence here on Friday.
He said that caution at every level was required to control the coronavirus infection. “It is necessary to adhere to the prevention protocol while conducting various activities during Unlock 2.0,” he said.
“People should be motivated and encouraged to observe social distancing norms and should be asked to wear masks,” he said, adding that activities should continue to create awareness among the masses.
The chief minister directed officials to continue effective police patrolling as before and stressed on checking public gathering and strict monitoring in the containment zones.
He said that all essential commodities should be available in the containment zones so that the people residing there did not face any problem.
The chief minister also laid emphasis on setting up of Covid helpdesks in all government and private institutions.
He said all precautionary steps should be taken to control COVID-19 spread in Ghaziabad district.
Asking officials to strengthen health services in Ghaziabad, Yogi directed the health and medical education departments officials to camp there.
The chief minister said in the efforts to contain COVID-19 and control the death rate, surveillance teams had a bigger role to play. He said that active participation by the surveillance team could lead to timely admission of the COVID-19 patients and prevent loss of lives.
He asked officials to increase the number of surveillance teams in Ghaziabad and Baghpat.
The chief minister also asked officials to encourage rapid antigen testings to ramp up Covid testings further. He said training programmes should be conducted to prepare trained medical teams.
“ASHA workers and retired medical employees can be roped in and trained for this,” Yogi said.
The chief minister asked officers to make arrangements in advance for the food grain distribution drive commencing from July 5. He asked officers to ensure that no complaint about weight and measure or any irregularity was received. He said the district magistrates should monitor every activity of food grain distribution drive on a regular basis.
He also directed officials to prepare an action plan to reduce the human loss from lightning.
