Chief secy lists priorities after taking charge

Assuming charge as the state’s chief secretary on Friday, Om Prakash stated that ensuring effective execution of various Central and State government projects while also resolving the situation resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic will be his top priorities.

Elaborating on the priorities, he said that his top priorities will be effective execution of projects being directed by PM Narendra Modi including the Kedarnath reconstruction works, all weather road and Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project.

 Along with these, the other top priorities will be to ensure effective implementation of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s announcements, executing the decision to make Gairsain the State’s summer capital, ensuring efforts related to reverse migration, preparing a concrete policy related to settlements and employment in the State, strengthening system in the IT sector and further enhancing the medical health facilities along with other commitments of the CM.

Prakash said that work is underway on various projects in the state under the PM’s directions including the Kedarnath reconstruction, all weather road and Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project. The PM’s dream project- all weather road will also be a top priority. Further, efforts will be aimed at protecting the state amidst the Covid pandemic and working with public participation towards reviving the state’s economy.From the viewpoint of national security- Uttarakhand is strategically important considering it has international borders with two nations. Considering this, migration from the state’s border areas is a major issue.

To resolve this, the chief secretary said he will focus on the efforts towards reverse migration directed by the CM and preparation of policies regarding settlements and employment in the State.  Prakash said that his effort will be to ensure the benefit of the Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana down to the last intended beneficiary. He said that the focus will also be on gathering resources for schemes prioritised by  CM, looking for ways to increase income sources and executing works.
