City man’s software enables schools to become paperless

Sunday, 01 November 2020 | Divya Modi | Ranchi

Ranchi based Amit Modi (36) has developed a platform called intSlate, which is a school management platform with refined modules for effective management of the institution. It enables the institutions in managing its operations right from admission of students to hiring employees and also collecting fees. Working on two visions, inSlate aims to help schools in tapping the unique potential of each student and also works in making the establishment a paperless facility with data analysis.

Launched in October 2017, the platform targets institutions of all levels and has over 35 clients across Jharkhand including DPS Ranchi, Nanhe Kadam Ranchi, DPS, Bhagalpur and RIT, Koderma to name a few. The mobile app called inSlate is available for Android and iOS devices while the website is called www.intlsate.com.

“In order to make an educational institution a paperless facility all work regarding admission- from pre admission to post admission, to posting vacancies and hiring an employee is done through inSlate.

For operation management attendance, time table- for both teachers and students, assignments and library- all are maintained in a digitised format. During the lockdown even examinations have been conducted online with both objective and subjective questions followed by issuing the mark sheet as well,” said Modi.

Emphasising on tapping the potential of students, Modi said, “At intSlate we truly believe that each child has a unique talent which needs to be identified and nurtured. For this schools are required to upload the data on the platform. This further enables the institution in showing the parents a progress report of their ward. For video based learning activities, videos for a particular class can also be uploaded for later reference. Parents too can monitor their child’s daily activities.”

The software also provides the school an option to upload all its statutory documents to keep records in digital format. All data is secured on Google Cloud while it is also saved in an encrypted format. The platform inSlate enables end to end encryption. For automated attendance- biometric integration, location tracking- GPS integration, and vendor payment- payment gateway integration, RFID integration- library and attendance are also enabled.

“As my son would be joining a regular school very soon, in the coming years, I hope to help the students get rid of their heavy school bags. In the times to come, schools will have smart classes, smart desks with smart students.

I would like to urge everyone and say that ‘Bachchon mein bachpana rehne do. Going with the PM’s call for vocalforlocal and make in India, made for the world,” stated the entrepreneur.

Modi strongly feels that his team members Ankit Jaiswal and Shikha Choudhary are strong arms in his journey. The other members are also very passionate about his vision and its execution and are working alongside him 24X7.

A resident of Ashok Nagar, Modi was born and brought up in Jhumri Telaiya, He completed his schooling from Saraswati Vidya Mandir and his masters in computer application from Aurangabad, Maharashtra. His wife Preeti Kumari Barnwal is pursuing law from VBU Hazaribagh.
