CM: Set up Covid help desks in PS, tehsils, jails & blocks

Wednesday, 24 June 2020 | PNS | Lucknow

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to set up Covid help desks in all police stations, hospitals, revenue courts, tehsils, development blocks and jails for identifying coronavirus patients and provide them immediate help.
These Covid help desks should be equipped with pulse oximeters, infra-red thermometer and sanitiser and display posters giving information on prevention from COVID-19.
“The staff deployed on help desks should be trained and have masks and gloves with them. The help desk should function from morning to evening and should be manned by one or two persons all the time,” the chief minister said while chairing an Unlock review meeting in Lok Bhawan here on Tuesday.
Yogi directed officials to furnish a list of Covid help desks already set up and advised that private hospitals also be encouraged to set up such help desks for the common man.
The chief minister directed that special secretary rank officers camp in districts and assist chief medical officers to improve health care services. He said that the performance of these officers during this crisis would come in for special assessment.
“Ramp up Covid testing and also strengthen the surveillance system. For this, special secretary rank officers are being sent to districts. Effective surveillance will help increase the number of testings,” he said.
Yogi also asked officials to set up more than one lakh medical screening teams to screen people once a week regularly. The officials were asked to provide masks, gloves and sanitiser to the team members.
Yogi also said that asymptomatic persons should be admitted to Covid hospitals. He said that training, surveillance, medical testing and setting up of Covid help desks should be expedited.
The chief minister asked officials to make efforts to increase the number of beds in Covid hospitals and to ensure that preventive protocol was being followed in all hospitals during treatment.
The chief minister also directed officials to ensure that mass awareness campaign on prevention from coronavirus continued through radio and television and people were made aware of the use of masks, importance of social distancing and symptoms of infection through public address system.
Yogi also directed the officials to ensure that free foodgrain distribution programme was conducted smoothly, taking all precautions. “Strengthen arrangements at cow shelters and take precautions to save cattle from diseases which occur in rainy season,” he said.
