Taking a serious note of the spike in coronavirus cases in NCR region, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told officials to take extra care, focusing on Noida and neighbouring districts which had emerged as hotspots.
“Take special care of districts like Noida, Bulandshahr, Meerut, Baghpat and Hapur. Ramp up bed capacity and number of hospital staff in NCR,” Yogi said while chairing a meeting on Unlock 1.0 at Lok Bhawan in Lucknow on Monday.
In the last couple of days, the number of COVID-19 patients have increased in NCR with Noida taking the lead. On Saturday, 83 cases were reported from Noida followed by 30 in Ghaziabad, 27 in Meerut, 15 in Agra and 23 in Bulandshahr. A day earlier, Noida had reported a maximum of 49 cases.
The CM directed officials to ensure adequate availability of oxygen in hospitals with proper back-up. “Timely treatment will be helpful in lowering death rate considerably,” he said.
Asserting that Unlock meant discipline, Yogi said that it was extremely important to maintain discipline at this time as all-round alertness was the key to breaking the chain of the viral infection.
“Communication at every level has been a pre-requisite to keep arrangements up to the mark in Covid and non-Covid hospitals. Maintain communication with senior administrative officers and doctors deployed as nodal officers in 11 districts,” he said.
The CM also asked divisional commissioners to have proper dialogue with district magistrates for bettering arrangements. He said that coronavirus infected patients be admitted to Level-1, Level-2 and Level-3 Covid hospitals as per their conditions. He also said that a survey be conducted in all industrial units to assess job requirement.
At the meeting, officers apprised Yogi that as many as 57.12 lakh workers had so far been given jobs in the state under MGNREGA projects, which was the highest in the country.
