CM in Mumbai to give impetus to film city Ernst & Young to prepare DPR

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Mumbai is likely to give an impetus to the state government’s efforts to set up a hi-tech film city in Noida as he has given instructions to the officials to speed up the project so that production can start within a year’s time.

“To meet the chief minister’s expectations, the Ernst & Young has been selected by the government as an advisory agency for preparing the detailed project report (DPR) of the infotainment city. This agency is preparing the DPR, keeping in mind the proposal of the film-makers and the film policy of the state government. It is expected that the DPR will be ready soon and work will begin on the ground after that,” a senior official said here on Tuesday.

He said the chief minister had already had several rounds of meetings with Bollywood stars and people who matter regarding construction of the infotainment city to be built on 1000 acres in Sector 21 of Noida.

In a meeting held in Lucknow on September 22, the chief minister had sought suggestions from representatives of the film industry for developing a Film City, on which the giants of the film industry had given their suggestions to the Yamuna Expressway Authority.

“Apart from this, the bigwigs had also urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to provide facilities for pre-production, production and post-production of film making under one roof. They had also sought facilities for sound mixing, special effects, colour transformation, video editing. The film studio was suggested to be constructed in such a way that the exterior there looks like a luxurious building, so that shooting can be done and it can be changed according to the need,” the official said and added that the work had started on the basis of suggestions given by the celebrities.

During his visit to Mumbai, the chief minister  is expected to meet 41 Bollywood stars.

“During this many, investment proposals are also expected to come for Film City and it is expected that the chief minister  will also discuss investment proposals with the veterans of Bollywood,” the official said.

Yogi was to reach Mumbai on Tuesday evening and was expected to meet Akshay Kumar in the night. On Wednesday, the chief minister will meet the celebrities for about four hours from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. He will also meet Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council Chairman Raju Srivastava, Gorakhpur MP and famous artistes Ravi Kishan, Dinesh Yadav ‘Nirhua’, Bollywood stars Randeep Hooda, Arjun Rampal and Satish Kaushik.
