The Motilal Oswal-KISS Residential School, the Balangir Unit of KISS Bhubaneswar, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patanik on Saturday.
“I hope this school will play a key role for the development of tribal children in a backward region like Balangir. For such an accomplishment, I congratulate founder of KIIT and KISS Dr Achyuta Samanta and managing director of Oswal Group Motilal Oswal,” Patnaik said.
"Education brings changes in the society. The State Government has taken many steps in educating children belonging to SCs and STs,” he added.
Women & Child Welfare and Mission Shakti Minister Tukuni Sahu said Balangir people would be indebted to Dr Samanta for his contribution in establishing the modern tribal residential school in the district.
Balangir MP Sangita Singh Deo said tribals are the primitive inhabitants of Balangir district. She expressed gratitude to Dr Samanta and Motilal Oswal for setting up the school for tribal children of Balangir.
Local MLA Narasingha Mishra said, “We extend our support to Dr Samanta for his consistent and noble endeavour to empower tribal students through education. It is very difficult to find a selfless and dedicated social worker like Dr Samanta in the world”
Oswal said, “We can establish such schools for tribal children if .we get the right support and cooperation.”
More than 20,000 people attended the inaugural ceremony.
