Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to carry out medical examinations of the inmates of child protection homes, women shelter homes and old age homes to ensure that infection has not reached these places.
“Conduct medical examinations of inmates of child protection homes, women shelter homes and old age homes. If somebody is found infected, he or she should be taken care of immediately,” the chief minister said while presiding over a high-level unlock review meeting at Lok Bhawan here on Tuesday
The chief minister also expressed satisfaction over setting up of over 33,000 Covid helpdesks in the state and said they should function in a proper way. “The helpdesk can play a pivotal role in fighting this infectious disease,” he said.
The chief minister directed the Health department to make additional arrangements of ambulances at district level and also asked them to encourage private hospitals to use TruNat machines. “This will increase the reach and speed up treatment of non-Covid patients,” he said.
Asking the officials to ramp up coronavirus testing, Yogi said apart from rapid antigen test, the RT-PCR (Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) testing method should be used to test 30,000 samples per day. He also directed officials to regularly inform the relatives about the condition of the patients admitted in Covid hospitals.
The chief minister said that cleanliness and sanitation should now be an integral part of the system to weed out the coronavirus infection. “It will help in controlling all communicable diseases, including COVID-19,” he added.
Yogi asked officials to extend the cleanliness campaign further and build community toilets in all gram panchayats. He said piped water supply schemes should be run effectively to ensure pure potable water and the people should be made aware of the need to drink boiled water to ward off various water-borne diseases. He asked all the nodal officers to take up cleanliness and potable water on a mission mode.
The chief minister said that all the departments concerned, including Cane and Horticulture, should work in tandem to check the menace of locust attack.
He asked officials to issue timely alert and make wide publicity to minimise the loss of lives due to lightning. The use of newspapers and public address systems at gram panchayat level may be helpful for this, he said.
The chief minister also directed the Irrigation and Revenue department to prepare an action plan for flood control and relief.
