Cold winds made chilling cold conditions in the State capital in the past 24 hours as effect of the cold winds from Western Himalayas had dipped the mercury by 2-3 degrees in several parts of the state.
The northern parts of state have witnessed steep dip in the temperatures in the past two days bringing night temperatures below 9 degree Celsius.
The Mandla and Umaria recorded lowest night temperature at 9 degree Celsius.
Bhopal recorded night temperature at 12.8 degree Celsius and day temperature at 25.6 degree Celsius while it is forecasted that the day temperature is likely to be witnessed at 29 degree Celsius and night temperature would be witnessed at 13 degree Celsius.
The Met department told that weather conditions of the state is likely to remain dry in the next 5-6 days and in the morning or evening mist or light fog conditions would be witnessed.
A cyclonic circulation over Indian Ocean and the adjoining southern Andaman Sea and under the influence of this weather system, a low pressure area is likely to form in the southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours.
Under the prevailing systems Sheopur Kalan, Morena, Neemuch and Mandsaur districts are likely to witness light showers and thundery activities in the next 24 hours.
The temperatures have not dipped significantly but cold winds have made the weather cold.
In the eastern part of state most of the places are witnessing night temperatures around 12 degree Celsius while several parts of the western region of the state around 13 degree Celsius.
