Collector Manoj Pushp has issued a show cause notice to 12 major banks of the district. These banks include State Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of India, United Bank of Commercial, Oriental Bank, ICICI Bank, UCO Bank, Indian Bank, Vijaya Bank, Dena Bank and Bank of Baroda. The complaints of CM Helpline were not being resolved at all by these banks. Along with this, no interest was being taken by banks in important works like crop insurance and Kisan Credit Card. Due to which farmers were getting unnecessarily upset. The farmers were also not getting the benefit of important schemes offered by the government. All these banks have sought reply to the notice within the time limit. Failure to reply will lead to punitive action.
The Collector has also directed the Agriculture Department, Industries Department, Lead Bank Manager, Municipality CMO to redress the complaints related to crop insurance and Kisan Credit Cards through banks through quick redressal. If the complaints are not resolved, the heads of these departments will also be punished.
