Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told officials to complete the construction of 500-bed super speciality unit for children at BRD Medical College hospital by August-end so that the people could get quality medicare.
On his day-long visit to Gorakhpur, Yogi Adityanath inspected the construction of different wings of BRD Medical College and said that construction of 200-bed Covid hospital was in progress and a 300-bed Covid hospital be set up in paediatric ward.
“Funds should not be hindrance in construction of Covid hospitals and other wards in Gorakhpur. These hospitals will also cater to neighbouring districts of Deoria, Kushinagar and Maharajganj. Even residents from Nepal will stand benefited from these hospitals,” Yogi said.
The chief minister also directed the district administration to set up a 100-bed Covid hospital in TB Hospital and stressed that Level-2 and Level-3 medicare be provided in this hospital.
“Paramedics should be imparted special training at the earliest. All Level-2 and Level-3 hospitals should have ventilators and other facilities mentioned in government guidelines,” he said.
“At present there are over 500 Level-1, 777 Level-2 and 26 Level-3 Covid dedicated hospitals and the priority of the government is to protect the lives of people at any cost,” the chief minister said.
Yogi further said that the government was working on a war footing to tackle the coronavirus pandemic and was following the prime minister’s directions.
“This is why the number of coronavirus positive cases is less in the state despite such a huge population,” he said.
