Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Monday decided to start preparation of upcoming Civic Bodies’ and Panchayats’ elections which are expected to be held in the end of the year.
It was decided during a meeting of JPCC’s working presidents and zonal coordinators held at Congress Bhawan in the State Capital in the presence of JPCC Chief Rameshwar Oraon, Leader of Congress Legislature Party Alamgir Alam and Health Minister Banna Gupta.
During the meeting, following the instruction of Indian National Congress, it was decided to resume the Congress membership campaign programme, which was postponed due to the outbreak of Corona epidemic. For the expansion of JPCC, the Executive presidents and Zonal Coordinators were instructed to confidentially hand over the list of inactive and ineligible parry workers as there were reports that some of the party official in the entire State, the block committee and district committee officials who are inactive and not participated in the district meetings and programs. The party will take action against them.
JPCC Senior Officials also reviewed the party’s programmes for the month of June such as Salute Day on June 26, dharna before the District Headquarters on the unprecedented increase in petrol and diesel prices on June 29 and submitting a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioners in the name of President of India, On the Martyrdom Day of Sidhu-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav, programmes also organized on the occasion of Santhal Hul Day was also reviewed.
Oraon instructed the party officials that all the committees formed by the JPCC will remain in existence till July 31 during the lockdown period due to Coronavirus infection. “The period will be extended as required. Such department and cell which is constituted by Indian National Congress like — NSUI, Youth Congress, Women’s Congress, Tribal Congress, Seva Dal, Scheduled Caste Cell, Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organisation, Kisan Congress, Backward Classes Cell, Kamgar Congress and Professional Congress will be working, he added.
