Cong blames Min for promoting individual worship

Sunday, 24 May 2020 | PNS | Dehradun

The Uttarakhand Congress has criticised the State Minister for higher education and cooperatives, Dhan Singh Rawat for releasing Modi Arti in a programme on Friday. Launching a diatribe on the Minister and Mussoorie MLA, Ganesh Joshi, the Congress spokesperson Garima Dasauni said that the act of these leaders amounts to denigrating the Hindu religion.

She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a human being but in the Arti, he is being equated with Hindu gods.

Dasauni said that this act has infused anger among the followers of Hindusim and they are feeling that their religious sentiments have got hurt. Terming the Arti and act of releasing it as an epitome of sycophancy, the Congress spokesperson said that those who used to label the Congress party with promoting the dynastic politics have now limited themselves with worshiping one person.  She added that these people have shown that they can stoop down to any level in sycophancy and person worship.  Dasauni demanded that the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat should take immediate cognizance of the incident and take action against these two leaders.

She added that the launch of Modi Chalisa on the lines of Hanuman Chalisa is a desperate attempt to hide the failures of Modi Government in tackling Covid-19 pandemic.

On Friday, Dhan Singh Rawat had attended a programme organised by the Mussoorie MLA, Ganesh Joshi in his assembly constituency.

The programme was organised to felicitate the people who are organising ‘Modi Kitchen’ from last 60 days to provide cooked food to the poor during lockdown.

In the programme, the duo also released a booklet ( Modi Arti) in which praises were heaped over PM Modi and he was equated with gods.

It gave an opportunity to the Congress party to go balletic on these leaders.

When contacted, Dhan Singh Rawat said that the Congress has developed a habit of criticising. He added that the sentiment of party workers should also be respected.
