Terming the Yogi Adityanath government as “ghotalo ki sarkar” (government of scams), the UP Congress demanded immediate removal of animal husbandry minister after a scam surfaced in the allotment of tenders leading to the arrest of some secretariat staff, journalists and others on Sunday.
“Public distribution system scam, 69000 assistant teachers’ recruitment scam, Public Works Department scam, shoe-socks supply scam, Panchayati Raj scam, Power Corporation provident fund scam, Home Guard scam, and now animal husbandry scam. After so many scams in its regime, the ‘ghotalo ki sarkar’ sobriquet fits the Yogi government,” charged UPCC vice-president Pankaj Malik in Lucknow on Monday
Highlighting the animal husbandry scam in which journalist Anil Rai was arrested, Malik asked the chief minister to reveal his relations with Rai so that everyone could know about his ‘zero tolerance’ towards corruption.
“The manner in which the names of staff of BJP ministers surfaced in the scam, makes it clear that the entire ministry is into irregularities and is busy making money by allotting tenders illegally,” the Congress leader said.
Malik also pointed out how cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh’s representative in Allahabad, Chandrama Singh Yadav (also close to Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya) was found involved first in TET paper leak and now in the 69000 assistant teachers’ recruitment scams.
“This indicates that those involved in scams have the patronage of Yogi’s cabinet colleagues. The animal husbandry minister should immediately be sacked and the scam should be probed under the supervision of a sitting judge of High Court,” Malik demanded.
