Cong vows to bring State's economy on fast trajectory

Saturday, 06 June 2020 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Friday vowed to bring back the ruined economy of the State's fast moving trajectory very soon and at the same time it also urged the Central Government to provide food-grain for next six months as the State is going to witness shortage of food-grains in near future.

Talking to the media persons after holding the meeting of Congress Relief Committee meeting, JPCC Chief cum Finance Minister, Rameshwar Oraon said that the economy of the State has suffered a lot due to the lockdown and Corona epidemic. At present it is the priority of the State Government to bring the economy on a positive trajectory, he added.

"A road map and action plan are also prepared for this. It will take time, but it is sure that the economy will be on the right track. At present, revenue collection is decreasing by more than 30 per cent every month. We will make the tax collection more comprehensive and we will appeal to the people for their cooperation. The availability of food grains is also a big responsibility for the next six months, because from now and till December there will be a shortage of food grains. Therefore, we urged Union Minister of Food Supply Ram Vilas Paswan that the Central Government should provide food grains to the poor states like Jharkhand for six months," said Oraon.

State Congress Spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey and Lal Kishorenath Shahdeo were present on the occasion.

In another event, Rural Development Minister, Alamgir Alam distributed foodgrain packets among 300 auto rickshaw drivers.

Addressing the auto rickshaw drivers on the occasion, Alam said that the Government is trying to provide relief to every section affected by the lock down and the migrants. "The Government is very serious to provide jobs to laborers, so far 500000 laborers have been given employment under the MNREGA and this will continue. The Government is also very serious to stop the migration at any stage in the coming time and the person wants to go outside the State for a job then he has to get permission from the State Government," he added.

Meanwhile, the first meeting of the Jharkhand Shramik Rojgar Coordination Committee was held through video conferencing at the State Congress Headquarters, under the chairmanship of the convener of the committee, Rajiv Ranjan Prasad.

Speaking on the occasion Prasad said that the committee is formulating a database to provide jobs to those migrant labourers who returned to the State recently.
