Despite a strong recovery rate, a huge spurt in fresh COVID-19 cases in Bokaro district remained steady. With 65 people testing positive for COVID-19 on Monday, the number of people who contracted the novel coronavirus infection in the district so far has crossed the 3,000-mark.
Till now around 3129 were tested COVID-19 positive, the total number of active cases rushed to 387 in the district, while the total death toll in the district hastened to 19, informed AK Pathak Civil Surgeon Bokaro. Around, 89 people were recovered and discharged from COVID hospitals on Monday after they tested negative for the Sars-Cov-2 virus for the second time and sent back to their home after recovering fully, he said.
All the new patients who were tested positive for COVID-19 were transferred to COVID Hospital and their contact tracing is being performed, said Pathak.
According to figures released by district administration around 80 thousand samples have been collected so far in the district, while the investigation reports of approximately 45 thousand samples are still awaited. All total 2689 were recovered in the district.
District administration issued infection-free certificates to the discharged patients along with medical kits. They were asked to remain in their homes in quarantine for 14 days.
