The rising cases of coronavirus refuses to slow down as total figures touched 16 alone in Jamshedpur, while two new cases were also reported from Seriakela Kharsawan.

One of the migrant labourers who returned from Kapurthala from Punjab was tested positive while another worker had returned from Santragachi. Both of them have been kept under quarantine at Chandil. Both the patients have been rushed to Tata Main Hospital. 

Meanwhile, after city reported five new positive cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, the area Govindpur has been converted into contentment zone.

Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla, SSP M Tamil Vanan and SDO Chandan Kumar rushed to Govindpur and inspected the situation there. The entire area is being sanitised and people have been advised not to come out. 

According to information, a girl student of Govindpur had returned from Delhi where she had been studying. She had returned along with her grandfather. Following this the resident had objected to her return and had demanded test of entire family after which a team from health department conducted swab test. The reports of the girl, her grandfather and her mother were tested positive.

Shukla confirmed the reports and said that the entire Govindpur area has been sealed and has been made Contentment Zone. The entire family of the girl has been admitted at Tata Main Hospital.

Meanwhile, two other youth one from Mango and one from Golmuri was tested positive. One of the youth of Mango had returned from Mumbai while the one from Bangalore. Both of them were admitted at MHM College and Hospital soon after they returned.

The migrant labourers who are returning back to their hometowns are being kept under strict vigil as administration has advised several of them to be home quarantined. Even after proper screening at Tatanagar railway station and bus stops, the administration is keeping a close watch at quarantine centres.

“We have been asked to follow the guidelines strictly. Relaxation is being given only on the cases of medical emergency and for those going for buying groceries as well as vegetables, milk etc during a stipulated period.  The administration is not going to give any further relaxation.  Those

who will move on the road beyond the cases of medical emergency or purchasing of grocery items or vegetables, they will have to show necessary pass otherwise the commuter will be prosecuted,” said the official.
