Chief Minister Hemant Soren today reiterated that the government has kept a watchful eye on the Covid-19 situation in the State and is ready for any contingency situation. The CM, while talking to media persons here on Friday said, “Increase in the Covid 19 cases is not a matter of surprise as we have accelerated the speed of testing and people are getting cured fast too.””
“We have been taking minute to minute details of the corona infection spread in the State… and certainly if anything appears (alarming) to us we are prepared to take any decision that is required,” said the CM adding that a high level committee has been taking care of day to day developments.
Earlier in the day, the CM inspected Nehru Park and Police Headquarters on the HEC campus. He said that the Nehru Park should be beautified as in the absence of maintenance; the condition of the park has become very bad. Shrubs and grasses have grown here, which should be cleaned so that common people can use it. Soren said that the identity of this park is associated with the construction of the HEC plant. So, steps should be taken towards its cleanliness and beautification.
After inspecting the Nehru Park, the CM took stock of the Police Headquarters campus. In an informal discussion with the officials here, he insisted on bringing all the buildings of the Secretariat, including the project building, into one campus. There should be connecting gates for all buildings along with the gates, he said. The CM also emphasised on building a common parking lot. He asked the officials to closely consider all the options related to it so that initiatives are taken to prepare it in a planned manner.
The CM reviewed the roundabout from the roundabout at the HEC campus to the Police Headquarters. He said that adequate arrangements should be made for street lights on both sides of the road. The entire campus should be monitored through CCTV cameras. He also said that both sides of the road wherever the hoardings are installed, they should be removed. A place should be identified for installation of these hoardings. He also directed to take special care of cleanliness here. On this occasion, the officials told the CM that according to the need, the road will also be widened.
