Covid-19: Highest single day recovery in U’khand

The number of patients of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand climbed to 38, 007 on Friday with the state health department reporting 868 fresh cases of the disease. The authorities also reported the death of four patients which increased the death toll to 464 in the State.

 On a positive note the health department discharged 1285 patients of the disease from different hospitals of the state after their recovery from the disease. This incidentally is the highest single day recovery in the state ever since the pandemic started on March 15 this year. A total of 26095 patients have so far got cured from Covid-19 infection. The percentage recovery for Covid-19 patients in the state is 68.66. Out of the total samples tested 6.85 percent have tested positive for the disease.

Congress MLA from Dharchula in Pithoragarh district, Harish Dhami was reported positive for Covid-19 on Friday. He is currently admitted in a private hospital in Dehradun.

Death of four patients of the disease which included a four year old girl was reported on Friday at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh.

The authorities discharged 427 patients in Dehradun, 293 in Haridwar, 183 in Nainital, 110 in Udham Singh Nagar, 93 in Tehri, 40 each from Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag, 22 from Chamoli and 20 in Champawat districts. Similarly 16 patients each were discharged from Almora and Bageshwar, 15 in Pauri and 10 in Pithoragarh district on the day.

The health department reported 359 patients of Covid-19 in Dehradun, 161 in Udham Singh Nagar, 106 in Haridwar, 83 in Nainital, 32 in Pauri, 29 in Bageshwar, 26 in Almora, 21 in Chamoli, 19 in Uttarkashi, 10 in Tehri, nine in Pithoragarh, seven in Champawat and six in Rudraprayag district.

Uttarakhand now has 11293 active patients of the disease with Dehradun maintaining its top position in the table with 3811 active patients of the disease. Dehradun is followed by Haridwar with 2209 active patients while Udham Singh Nagar at third position with 1415 active patients.  Nainital has 1316,  Pauri 565, Pithoragarh 327, Uttarkashi 315, Tehri 289, Chamoli 243, Champawat 226, Almora 225, Bageshwar 196 and Rudraprayag 156 active patients.
