The number of Covid-19 patients in Uttarakhand mounted to 47045 on Sunday with the state health department reporting 764 fresh cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of eight patients on Sunday which increased the death toll to 574. The authorities discharged 813 patients of the disease from different hospitals of the state after their recovery. A total of 35462 patients have so far recovered from the disease and the recovery percentage in the state is now at 75.38 percent.
Four patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at Max hospital Dehradun on Sunday. Two patients succumbed to the disease at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. One patient each was reported dead at Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani and HNB Base hospital Srinagar.
The provisional state capital Dehradun continues to be the hardest hit by the contagion of Covid -19. Here 241 fresh cases were reported on Sunday. In Haridwar 139 patients were reported while 90 and 89 patients were reported in Pauri and Udham Singh Nagar respectively. Nainital reported 50, Uttarkashi 36 while 25 patients each were reported in Tehri, Chamoli and Champawat districts. Rudraprayag reported 16, Pithoragarh 11, Almora nine and Bageshwar eight patients on Sunday.
The authorities discharged 259 patients in Haridwar, 244 in Dehradun, 104 in Almora and 35 in Pauri district on Sunday. Uttarakhand now has 10799 active patients of the disease with Dehradun maintaining its lead at top of table with 3542 active cases of the disease. Haridwar is on second spot with 1816 active patients and Nainital on third position with 1304 active cases. Udham Singh Nagar has 1016, Pauri 786, Uttarkashi 428, Chamoli 374, Almora 373, Pithoragarh 325, Tehri 292, Champawat 267, Rudraprayag 157 and Bageshwar 119 active patients of the disease.
