Five deaths of Covid-19 positive patients were reported from across Chhattisgarh even as 438 fresh cases were detected on Wednesday.
Also, 269 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals upon their recovery, officials said.
A 51-year-old man from Urla in Raipur was admitted in AIIMS Raipur on August 10. He had diabetes, high blood pressure and other complications. He was detected Covid positive and died on Tuesday, the officials said.
A 50-year-old man from Bhilai with breathing trouble was admitted in a private
hospital and then referred to AIIMS Raipur on August 7. He tested Covid positive and died on Wednesday.
A 65-year-old man from Mahavir Chowk locality in Raipur was admitted in AIIMS Raipur with fever and breathing trouble on August 8. He too tested Covid positive and died on Wednesday, the officials said.
A 45-year-old woman from Devendra Nagar in Raipur was admitted in AIIMS Raipur with breathing trouble. She had pneumonia and gastroenteritis and was found Covid positive. She also died on Wednesday.
A 59-year-old man from Bhilai was admitted with breathing problem in Sector-9 hospital Bhilai. Later he was found Covid positive and shifted to Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur.
He died on Tuesday, the officials said.
With these deaths, the total fatality among Covid positive patients has climbed to 109 in Chhattisgarh.
So far, 13,498 persons have been found Covid positive in the state, of which 9,508 were discharged on their recovery, while currently there are 3,881 active Covid cases in Chhattisgarh.
