Covid count mounts to 59,106 in State

The death toll from the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand climbed to 960 on Wednesday with the state health department reporting the death of 14 patients. The department reported 505 fresh cases of Covid-19 on the day. The state now has 59,106 patients with the disease. The authorities discharged 770 patients of the disease after their recovery from different hospitals of the state on Wednesday. A total of 52632 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery rate from the disease has climbed to 89.05 percent and the Infection Rate (IR) is at 6.50 percent.

Four patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Wednesday. A similar number of patients succumbed to the disease at Sushila Tiwari Government Hospital, Haldwani. Three patients were reported dead at the HNB Base hospital, Srinagar while two patients of Covid-19 lost their lives in Himalayan hospital Dehradun. One patient died at district hospital Chamoli.

The authorities reported 140 fresh cases of Covid-19 from Dehradun on Wednesday. Similarly 52 patients were found in Udham Singh Nagar, 49 from Nainital, 47 from Pauri Garhwal, 39 from Chamoli, 37 from Haridwar, 30 from Uttarkashi, 26 from Pithoragarh, 25 from Rudraprayag, 24 from Almora, 20 from Tehri and eight each from Bageshwar and Champawat districts on Wednesday. Out of the 770 patients discharged on Wednesday, 308 are from Dehradun, 118 from Nainital and 81 from Haridwar.

The state now has 5085 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district with 1543 active cases is at top of table while Haridwar with 647 active cases is on second spot. Nainital has 526, Pauri 478, Udham Singh Nagar 311, Chamoli 293, Uttarkashi 285,  Tehri 244, Pithoragarh 200, Champawat 139, Almora 169 and Rudraprayag 144 active cases of the disease. With 106 active cases of Covid-19, Bageshwar is at the bottom of the table of active cases in Uttarakhand.
