A few days back, the district administration of Nabarangpur had won SKOCH Award (silver) for an exhibition on district response to the Covid-19.
District Collector Dr Ajit Kumar Mishra dedicated the award to all the Covid warriors. However, soon the administration came under fire for suppressing the exact figure of infected Covid patients and mortality rate in the district.
The figure stated by the district administration in day-to-day bulletin about the infected persons was inconsistent with the State figure. Further, it is alleged that large scale irregularities were made in supply of materials to the quarantine centers.
Meanwhile, the positive cases in the district have surged to 340. There are allegations that the district administration was making delay in demarcating the area as contentment and buffer zones where positive cases of Coronavirus were found.
