The on-going epidemic affects every aspect of life around the world and has also affected general educational activity in educational institutions. Nevertheless, this has not diminished the academic spirit and commitment among the faculties of Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ). Last week, the Department of Chemistry, CUJ hosted a week-long online Faculty Development Program (FDP).
The FDP was formed by Head of the Department of Chemistry, Professor Arun Kumar Padhi, Department of Chemistry, Professor Ratan Kumar Dey under the patronage of the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University.
More than 180 faculties of colleges and universities from various parts of the Country as well as abroad registered for the program. Following the inaugural lecture by the Acting Vice Chancellor of CUJ, the week-long program was enriched by lectures from scientists from several prestigious faculties and premier institutes such as IITs, Central Universities and CSIR laboratories.
The rigorous program received enthusiastic and scholarly responses from participants who were also influenced by the state-of-the-art research being carried out in the Department of Chemistry of CUJ presented by departmental faculties. The university's technical team led by Professor Subhash Chandra Yadav played a key role in the smooth running of the virtual program.
