Cyber police, Ujjain, has started investigation of fake profile of SP, Ujjain, over Facebook by an imposter who asked for money from his friends. The complaint was lodged after friends of SP informed regarding facebook.
A sensational case of asking for money from friends and acquaintances by creating fake Facebook ID of Ujjain SP surfaced after a fraudster created fake Facebook profile of Ujjain SP Manoj Kumar Singh
The fraudster made a demand of Rs 15,000-Rs 20,000 using Facebook messenger from Singh’s friends and acquaintances. He came to know only after the friends informed and he immediately delete the fake Facebook profile. The case is being investigated by the cyber police.
In the demand made by the fraudster, bank account number for transfer of money was sent through messenger.
A message was sent stating that his friend’s daughter met accident and require money urgently. When one of the friend asked when he would return the fraudster replied by Saturday morning. In this regard, SP Manoj Singh says that the fake profile maker is being investigated.
Notably, fraudster made a fake profile of SP Singh from original Facebook profile and took his mobile number.
In the recent past, fraudster tried to cheat many people by creating fake Facebook profile of SI Vikram Singh, In-charge of Narwar police station in Ujjain and when SI Vikram Singh came to know about this, he immediately locked the profile and messaged on Facebook that people are being demanded for money by creating fake ID in his name.
