In a letter written to the director of Uttarakhand school education department, the chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR), Usha Negi asked the department to provide support to such schools which are capable of providing quality education which is the motive of Atal Adarsh Vidyalay too. According to Negi, she received a letter from the principal of Karnpur located DAV Inter College, in which he had stated that those parents who are unable to continue the studies of their children in private schools due to financial crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic can admit their children to DAV inter college where they will be provided with quality education in English language at the charges set by Government. The school has well qualified 43 teachers for all the subjects and sufficient classrooms besides a huge library and science laboratories, as stated by the principal in letter. Negi said that the DAV administration is also ready to give free admission to those female students who are not getting 25 per cent reservation after class VI under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act.
Furthermore, Negi said that when such schools come forward to provide quality education to children in such crisis, they should be supported by education department too.
