Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Adesh Gupta has tested positive for coronavirus.
“Last week I had a Covid test done after having a mild fever, the report of which was negative. Due to continuing to feel uncomfortable, I went for a corona test again which came out positive. Though, I have quarantined myself for the last one week but still anyone who came in contact with me, should be tested," Gupta tweeted in Hindi. Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia and eight other MLAs on Monday had tested Covid positive.
Besides Sisodia, eight Delhi MLAs have also tested positive. They include Rajesh Gupta, Rituraj Govind, Virender Singh Kadian, Ajay Mahawar, Surender Kumar, Girish Soni, Vishesh Ravi and Pramila Dheeraj Tokas.
Delhi on Wednesday recorded 4473 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally to over 230269 lakh, according to?Delhi government’s health bulletin. The death toll climbed to 4839 with 33 new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.
The city conducted around 62593 Covid-19 tests in last 24 hours, of which 11275 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 51318 were rapid antigen tests.
