Doctors of various hospitals deployed in Covid-19 duty in all the Central and State Government hospitals in the national Capital on Friday sported black arm bands at work to express disappointment of the medical professionals' over the revised guidelines for health workers posted in Covid areas, issued by the Union and State Health Departments.
FORDA President Shivaji Dev Barman said that the 'black ribbon protest' was organised by the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) India in which doctors of Deep Chand Bandhu Government Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital and Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital participated by sporting black arm bands.
In a letter written to Delhi health minister on Thursday, FORDA had suggested 14 day quarantine along with adequate testing for all the doctor deputed on Covid duty under current circumstances. “It is a necessity in order to prevent spread of infection among their colleague, family members and in the community. It is essential to reduce the spread of Covid-19 among doctors for efficient maintenance of healthcare services,” it stated.
