Two trucks collided head on at Kurumapuri under the Lakhana police station in Nuapada district during the wee hours of Thursday killing the driver of one of the vehicles.
The deceased has been identified as Prem Chand Singh of Madhya Pradesh. The mishap took place around 3 am, reports said.
Driver of the truck, who survived fled the spot after the accident. On being informed, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
In another mishap, as many as 40 migrant workers sustained injuries when the bus in which they were travelling overturned on the National Highway-60 near the Laxmannath Toll Plaza in the Jaleswar area of Baleswar district on Thursday.
According to reports, the vehicle was carrying around 50 migrant workers from Kerala to Kolkata. The driver of the bus lost control over the wheels following which it turned turtle leading to the mishap.
Being informed, police and Fire personnel rushed to the spot and initiated a rescue operation and admitted the injured to the Jaleswar Community Health Centre (CHC).
