A 35 year-old man who allegedly used to steal vegetables from Delhi’s Okhla sabzi mandi and sold them outside the market at a cheaper price has been arrested by the Delhi Police. Police said that the man identified as Sarfaraz is a drug addict and unemployed.
According to R P Meena, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Southeast district, Sarfaraz who lives with his family in Delhi’s Sriniwaspuri, would steal vegetables from the mandi to fulfil his daily needs.
“If someone saw him stealing, he would threaten them on knife-point. The accused was arrested on Tuesday when police were patrolling near Okhla Sabzi Mandi. He was intercepted by the patrolling team when he was standing alone at a deserted place,” said the DCP.
