The East Coast Railway Mazdoor Union (ECoRMazU) raised various labour issues while observing the “Nationwide protest day”, called by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, on Wednesday.
Earlier, the ECoRMazU had conducted “Chetawani Saptah” from October 10 to 16 against the anti-labour policy of the Union Government.
On Wednesday, the ECoRMazU submitted a 10-point charter of demands to the Prime Minister through DRMs of Khurda, Sambalpur and Waltair at division Level, CWM/MCS at workshop level and& GM/ECoR at zonal level.General secretary Sachita Nanda Biswal in presence of Khurda BMS secretary Santilata Sethy and BMS district president Ganeswar Das and other members of the ECoRMazU were present.
The demands include removal of anti labour provisions in the newly-enacted labour codes, stopping of privatisation in Railways and abolition of contract workers system, revision of PLB ceiling at 18,000 per month, restoration of old pension scheme, minimum pay of Rs 24,000, immediate defreeze of DA and Implementation of MACPS benefits with promotional hierarchy in every five years.
