Eminent poet Rahat Indori passes away

Writer of these lines who was known as one of the most talked about contemporary Urdu poets, Rahat Indori, 70, died after contracting Covid-19 infection on Tuesday morning.

Indori who was a native of Indore in Madhya Pradesh had himself taken to social media to announce his infection on Tuesday morning and was shifted to Aurobindo hospital in the city. However, his condition deteriorated as the day progressed, said sources from the hospital.

He suffered from diabetes, heart ailments and kidney problems, said those close to Indori family. He suffered heart attack thrice and due to lungs infection, Indori could not survive, said the Aurobindo hospital.
