ESL Steel Limited, a Vedanta Group Company has launched skill schools to impart vocational training to unemployed youths.

“Our aim is to impart training through a short duration vocational program to the unemployed youth in a bid to make them skilled,” informed a Public Relations Officer of ESL.

Based on the NSDC guidelines, the beneficiaries of the projects include men and women within the age group of 18-35 years. The minimum qualification required is Class 5 pass to pursue “Sewing Machine Operator” while Class 10 or ITI or Diploma to become a “Solar PV Installer”, informed the official.

After training, the students will be able to earn a salary between Rs. 10000-15000 per month, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Malhan, CEO, ESL said, “The ESL Skill Schools are aimed at the dynamic but unfortunately unemployed men and women of Jharkhand who can now think of getting employment through vocational training.

“The project is in line with India’s Skill India Mission which is all about acquiring talents that qualify individuals to grab employment opportunities. Additionally, the project intends to empower people and improve their per capita income,” added Malhan.

However, it would not have been possible without the project implementing agency Learnet Skills Limited, which facilitated in giving wings to the initiative. I am hopeful that the project will greatly contribute in making the youth self-dependent.”

Abhishek Singh, National Head, Learnet Skills Limited said, as a leading vocational and employability training company, our aim is to reach out to the youth of India which has immense potential but finds it hard to attain skills that are a mandate in securing a job.

“Together with ESL, we have realized this vision of making the youth independent and empowered. I wish ESL all the best and I hope that they touch the lives of more individuals through this great initiative.”

Beside others Dhanbad MP PN Singh, S.
