The State Government has initiated the process for developing technical institutions like ITI and polytechnic to Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in all OMBADC areas.
It was revealed at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on a digital mode from the Lokseva Bhawan wherein Skill Development and Technical Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh presented the need and feasibility of such institutions.
Singh said the employability of students of many ITIs were also very high during last year. Leading industrial houses are in collaberative partnership with many ITIs, he said.
Chief Secretary Tripathy directed Singh to take steps for development of such institutions in the OMBADC areas to expand avenues of employment. He stressed on imparting new age trades like drone piloting, solar technology, smart agriculture, smart horticulture, robotic technology, mechactronics, additive manufacturing technology.
Singh to informed that 11 ITIs of the State ( Seven Government and four private ones) ranked among Top-100 ITIs in Phase-II ranking of the year 2019-20. Seven Government institutions included ITI Berhampur (11th), ITI, Hinjilicut (15th), ITI Jajpur (24th), ITI Jahrsuguda (45th), ITI Puri (61st), ITI Takatpur (73rd) and ITI Bhubaneswar ( 88th). Similarly, four private institutions included ITI, Bhadrak ( 52nd), ITI, Charampa, Bhadrakh ( 66th), Dalmia ITI Sundargarh ( 64th) and,Sriguru ITC Jagatpur, Cuttack ( 65th).
