The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging to extend lockdown period till  April 30 in view of current troubled time of coronavirus.

The CAIT said that prompted by the motto "Nation before Self", the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has undertaken a survey with prominent trade leaders of all states of the Country and have come to the conclusion that the lockdown period should be extended.

The CAIT assured that traders will leave no stone unturned to combat this deadly disease and stand shoulder to shoulder with the Government as true Corona warriors of India.

CAIT national president B C Bhartia and secretary general Praveen Khandelwal in its communication to Prime Minister said that the deadly Covid-19 has  posed a major challenge to all humanity and displayed devastating implications in most prosperous of nations across the World.

Nevertheless, in view of the burgeoning number of cases of Covid19 in India over the last one week and to add impetus to the Government’s overall effort to combat the disease and prevent community spread, the business community stands with Government in solidarity and whatever the decision, the Government takes, the trading community will abide by such decision and follow the same with its true letter and spirit,” they said.

“India is a resilient nation made of values like patience and perseverance. Even though the economic and financial impact of a continued lockdown maybe unbearable, we are hopeful  that we will fight back strongly to resurrect our economy and rebuild our resources with government support.
