Enraged over the BJP-led Haryana Government’s decision of sealing state’s borders with Punjab from November 25 to 27 in view of farmers’ protest march towards Delhi against the Centre’s farm laws, Punjab’s farmers’ bodies on Tuesday threatened to block the routes to Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
At the same time, the farmers’ bodies have also urged the Punjab and Haryana High Court to take suo motu cognizance notice of the Haryana Government’s decision.
“Has Haryana CM or his govt has right to block road to refuse passage to farmers to go to national capital. Can't Hon. High Court take suo moto notice to give justice to peaceful farmers,” tweeted Bharatiya Kisan Union (Rajewal) president Balbir Singh Rajewal on Tuesday.
“Haryana CM Khattar has sealed borders for Pb farmers to prove that Pb is not part of India. OK. We will peacefully block route to Himachal and J and K. Will start dharna on road,” he said in a series of tweets. The state’s farmers organizations has strongly condemned the Haryana Government’s decision of sealing its borders, while declaring that they were ready for their proposed march as it will be a “historic” agitation in which women and youth will participate in large numbers.
The All-India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh and various other factions of the Bharatiya Kisan Union had given a call for the November 26-27 “Delhi Chalo” march to press the Centre for the scraping of the recently enacted three farm laws.
