FIR filed against six revenue officials among 12 people

Saturday, 08 August 2020 | Parvesh Sharma | Gurugram

After eight months of investigation, the CM flying squad has registered cases against 12 people including six Naib Tehsildars for fraudulently registering flats of economically weaker sections (EWS) quota at the Sector-29 police station.

The Registrations of these flats have been done in Wazirabad and Gurugram tehsils from the year 2013 to 2017.

On the basis of an inquiry conducted by the CM Flying Squad and after examining the registry of these flats, the case was filed and Investigations have revealed irregularities in hundreds of registries.

The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code including the Corruption Act.

“The investigation suggests that the revenue officials fraudulently registered flats of economically weaker sections before the stipulated time. A case has been registered against Naib Tehsildar Rupinder, Omprakash, Inderjit, Ramchander, Omprakash Yadav and Jagdish Bishnoi. Besides these officials, Girish Kumar, Manisha, Bela Singh etc. are accused of selling and buying flats,” said Subhash Boken, spokesperson of the Gurugram police.

According to the police, the CM Flying Squad, had received a complaint in January 2019 over the illegal registrations of EWS quota flats.

The investigation team sought information from the district town and country planning (DTCP) on behalf of the builders of the EWS flats.

The investigation found that the flats under the quota were sold to other people before the fixed five-year period.

The investigation team also found that about 75 per cent of the people got their flats registered within one to one and a half years without fulfilling the stipulated time of five years.

The officers were stunned after seeing that the flat owners started selling the flats after one month only after receiving the possession letter of EWS flats from the builder.

“The accused got the registries illegally in connivance with revenue officials and tehsil employees. Unreasonable benefits were also extended to the revenue officials concerned for this,” said an official of CM flying squad.
