Flight with stranded passengers arrives

A special AirAsia flight carrying stranded people of Odisha from Mumbai arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here on Wednesday.

Besides, two more special flights from Guwahati and Imphal were scheduled to arrive at the airport later in the day, said airport officials.

Meanwhile, a team of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) along with officials of the Health Department, the Commissionerate police and Airport Authority of India made arrangements for thermal screening, stamping and registration of passengers.

Besides, intensive counselling and awareness drive on quarantine period, self-care, home quarantine, paid quarantine facilities and referral of critical cases are being carried out at the airport. Officials were deployed to ensure hassle-free transit of passengers to their destinations.
