Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that to contain the spread of coronavirus infection, it should be ensured that all preventive protocols were followed strictly and contact tracing was intensified.

“Continuing with 65,000 RT-PCR tests daily, 1.5 lakh to 1.75 lakh Covid tests should be conducted every day,” the chief minister said while chairing an Unlock review meeting at his official residence in Lucknow on Friday.

After reviewing the current situation in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Jaunpur and Pratapgarh districts, Yogi said that the recovery rate should be improved furher.

Directing officials to maintain treatment standards at hospitals, the chief minister said that it should be ensured that the patients got medicines and nutritious food on time.

“Doctors should take regular rounds of wards and check the oxygen level of COVID-19 patients at regular intervals and if required, use HFNC (high flow nasal cannula) therapy,” he said.

Yogi said that paddy purchase centres should be operated effectively and social distancing should be followed strictly there.

“The farmers should be encouraged not to burn stubble and should be made ware of the hazards of stubble burning and the pollution caused by it. Besides pollution, stubble burning reduces soil fertility. Instead, the farmers should be encouraged to prepare compost from it. This would not only help in stopping air pollution but also make compost available with them,” Yogi said.
