Former CM targets Govt over lack of employment opportunities for tribals

Wednesday, 23 September 2020 | PNS | Jamshedpur

Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das has said that his Government in the State had worked to prioritise local youth in jobs by creating an employment policy in the greater interest of tribal people but the present State Government is not taking any step for the greater of the youth.

Das said that in the Fifth Schedule of the Constitution, the Governor has been given the powers to make rules in the case of schedule area (notified area). During his tenure as the CM, there was a shortage of teachers in Jharkhand. Even education was being disrupted.

“Based on the prevailing situation, our government formulated an employment  policy to provide jobs to the youth at the local level. But the present government, hit by political interest, did not properly present its side in the High Court to discredit our government. For this reason, the future of our tribal native youth has reached the brink of darkness,” noted Das.

Das went on to add that due to political rivalry, the future of tribal-native youth should not be put in darkness. These parties did not allow local policy for 14 years for political gains. They were never worried about the future of tribal youth.

He said that due to lack of a proper system of education, children in most backward districts of the state are not able to prepare for the examination properly. Due to this, in the competitive examinations, they had to face stiff competition from the students of other districts, due to this they suffered. Keeping in mind the interests of tribals and indigenous people of Jharkhand state in the BJP government, notification number 5939, dated 14.07.2016, implemented the appointment policy and reserved 100 per cent of the posts of class three and four for the residents of Jharkhand. As a result, after 2016, all the appointments of class three and four in the state got 100 per cent benefit to the local residents. During the entire tenure of our government, full consideration was given to the appointment policy and appointments made accordingly noted Das.

He said that it seems that the JMM-Congress government has the intention that all the appointments made during the time of the BJP government should be disputed.

The residents of the state should not get the benefit of this and they continue to take political advantage as before.

Das said that if the JMM Congress really wants to protect the interest of the local residents of Jharkhand, it will have to take immediate action in relation to the pending appointments.
